JOLLY JUBILEE
 We've had a pretty busy jubilee holiday.

On Sunday we waited in the rain for 5 hours to see the flotilla. It was great as we managed to find a good spot just downriver of Vauxhall bridge and we were on the second row back so got an excellent view. We did bailout before the whole flotilla had passed as it started to absolutely bucket it down and we got too cold. All in all a good day - although the children were not as impressed as i had hoped. 

Then on Monday we attended my father in laws street party - very well organised, lots of games and food so another great day. My favourite was the giant sized connect 4 game - I am the family champion !!! may well be because Mike is totally hopeless  though. 

Yesterday saw is in more rain this time at Thorpe Park where me an the children got very very wet on a ride appropriately named Tidal Wave.  Mike had decided to cycle to Brighton and back and he got even wetted than us!

I keep hoping to fit a bit of crafting in but it just doesn't seem to be happening. 

Here's hoping for some better weather for the end of the week. Maybe if the sun shines we'll squeeze in a trip to Chessington - must get our moneys worth from our merlin annual passes.

EMBOSSED BABY BEAR This is clearly my favourite stamp set at the moment and I have been trying out lots of different colour combinations and techniques. Here are the finished cards and underneath I have done a step by step photo guide - which is a first for me. The bear is stamped in smoky slate and dapper denim, sponged in marina mist.  Bear is stamped in soft suede and early espresso and sponged with peekaboo peach. Here are my supplies all laid out First I stamped image no 2 of the stamp set on whisper white in pink pirouette. Remember to use your piercing mat or other foam pad underneath any photopolymer stamp sets so you get a good image. Then I stamped image no 3 of the set with melon mambo. It does take a bit of practice to line the stamps up so practice a few times first on scrap paper. I find it best to make sure the bear's bottom and the gap between arms and body are lined up. Then finally use image no 1 and versamark to stamp

Angry Brids card in a box

I'm rather addicted to making these card in a box cards and decided to combine this with one of my other favourites - punch art. I've thrown a new matching stamp and framelit set called Just Sayin and word bubbles into the mix .These are some of the latest fab products from the Spring and Summer Catalogue. Flower Pot Cards

This week we are making flower pot cards using the soon to retire daisy delight stamp set and matching punch To make the card you need  A4 cardstock a 4in x 6 in piece of co ordinating designer series paper Cut your cardstock to 11inch x 3 inch and score at 4 1/2 inches and 9 inches on the long side. Make a pretty border on the 2 inch section using either a punch or edging die. Mark 1/2 in in from the bottom of the cardstock on both sides and cut to the top of the card to make the flower pot shape Glue patterned paper to the front of your card and then trim. Stamp a greeting if required on the edge.  Then use tear and tape or glue to secure the plant pot edge down. Use tear and tape to join the card at the top Make the insert - a 5.5 inch x 3inch piece with a neutral layer measuring 5 1.4 inch x 2 3.4 inch on top, This will be decorated at the top
